Database of the Benefits of Pesticides

Welcome to the CropLife International database of published papers and reviews demonstrating the benefits of pesticides.

In addition to the primary benefits of crop protection and production with resulting economic advantages, there are many secondary benefits of pesticides related to, amongst others, food safety, human health, quality of life. These benefits, outlined in the recent report on Benefits of Pesticides by Cooper and Dobson, are largely ignored in the published literature, resulting in a down- playing of the important role that pesticides play in supporting and protecting the livelihoods of farmers, farm families and the general population.

The purpose of this database is to enable you quickly and easily to locate and access credible scientific information about the demonstrated benefits associated with the use of pesticides. The database provides access or links to the complete articles, as well as brief summary abstracts that highlight the reason for inclusion, namely the benefit that is discussed.
